Equine-Assisted Wellness SessionS

Healing Happens Here—with Horses and Nature

At PonyUp4Kids Foundation, we believe in the natural power of horses to restore health, hope, and happiness. Our equine-assisted learning and wellness activities support physical, mental, and emotional healing for people of all ages and backgrounds. From youth in foster care to veterans, first responders, and families in recovery, everyone deserves the chance to heal—and horses help make it possible.

Research confirms what we see every day:
✅ Time in nature reduces stress, anxiety, and depression
✅ Horse interaction lowers blood pressure, improves mood, and builds confidence
✅ Gentle movement around horses improves balance, core strength, and coordination
✅ Bonding with animals boosts emotional regulation and trust
✅ Structured horse care and activities help people rebuild routines and purpose

Whether you're struggling with grief, trauma, or life transitions—or just seeking a sense of peace—our programs meet you where you are, without judgment or pressure, in a supportive, nature-rich environment.

Nature and HorseS: Holistic CurEs

PU4K Success Story

It was a tough time for Nellie, a 21 year old college student struggling with some intense anxiety and depression, which led to physical aliments.  She sought help from her doctor  and was diagnosed with chronic anxiety. While that didn't come as a surprise to Nellie, the prescription did.  Her doctor told her to get outside and connect with nature.  The doctor said it would be 'Therapeutic".

Nellie was skeptical at first but after her first 3 equine assisted wellness sessions with PonyUp4Kids, Nellie was surprised at how well and how quickly she started to feel better.

When college let out for the summer, Nellie jumped at the opportunity to participate in a Horses and Nature Retreat with PonyUp4Kids.  The 2-day immersive experience on the mountain top farm filled her with a calmness and helped to heal her heart.

Nellie learned that equine assisted activities in nature, sitting, listening and sharing fireside in the evening  was the perfect cure for her mental and physical problems.

"Those 2-days changed my life for the better." Nellie shared on her feedback form.
